I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. Emily and Micheal’s craftsmanship and top notch creativity and touches (from turskish towels, high end finishes, incredible soft sheets and fully stocked kitchen and MORE) really made this amazing place REALLY stand out. The design and construction is amazing plus the grounds are impeccable. Even more important they were AMAZING and kind hosts. Wow. Wow. Wow. Amazing. Run don’t walk to book this gem in paradise!

We just returned from staying at The Big Dipper dome to celebrate our 21st anniversary and it was incredible.
The private dock was spacious and easy to find. The hike up was steep (as expected), but well marked, and gorgeous.
The dome felt expansive but cozy. All of the furnishings were top notch but not 'stuffy'. This is the Northwoods after all! The bed was very comfortable and the linens were soft. We cooked fabulous steaks on the Blackstone provided. The bathroom has a heavenly rain shower with great water pressure. We utilized the games, speaker and puzzles provided by the owner which was welcomed and supported our efforts to pack as little as possible. We ended each day with a dip in the wood fired hot tub which soothed our aching muscles after our long days reeling in fish from beautiful Crane Lake.
While all of this was amazing, the view from the dome and the surrounding deck, along with the quiet were by far our favorite features. The sunrises, the stars and the Northern lights are things I have experienced before, but not like this. The location makes these things extra special. 10 out 10.
The owners are a delight to work with and have a top notch cleaning staff. The dome was spotless and exactly as described. As stated in the listing, just bring your clothes and food. Everything else is there for you.

Just got back from staying in The Big Dipper at Voyageurs Outpost in Crane Lake—and wow, it was next-level glamping. The views were unreal, the vibe was peaceful, and everything about the place was so thoughtfully designed. You can tell the owners really care—everything from the eco-friendly touches to the cozy setup was spot on.
We had perfect weather, and the wood-fired hot tub under the stars was the cherry on top. The owners were super friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time.
If you’re looking for a unique, relaxing getaway with good fishing in northern Minnesota—highly recommend this spot!

This Glamping Dome was absolutely stunning, Emily and her Husband have done an outstanding job designing this luxury cabin. If you’re looking for a relaxing off the grid trip this is the place to be. They had all the amenities we needed indoors and out. This place is definitely designed to sign off your electronics and enjoy each other’s company. I would definitely recommend bringing enough food for the weekend or however long you’re staying, since it is more off grid there were only a few nearby restaurants and groceries stores. At the Dome they have a full fridge with a freezer, as well as an oven/stove, and a microwave with all the pots, pans and dishes necessary to make any meal you bring along. We would highly recommend this luxury glamming dome for the perfect relaxing getaway and thank you to the couple hosting and making everything go so smoothly.

Our stay in the Little Dipper will forever hold a spot in our hearts!! This was an incredible experience for my daughter and I! We were able to canoe to Voyagers National Park and make peaceful memories together. This is a unique experience that we will share with many and highly encourage to others when they need to escape their busy lives and immerse in nature.

The magic that greets you upon arrival at the Big Dipper is palpable. Emily and Michael have curated a cozy haven of beauty, relaxation, and adventure that feels like living in a dream. It’s hard to articulate just how extraordinary this place truly is.
Emily was incredibly helpful in guiding us through Voyageurs, helping us make the most of our exploration of the breathtaking park just steps from the dome. She even provided snorkels for our kids - the highlight of the trip for our 9 year old!
Every detail is thoughtful and beautifully executed. The views are stunning. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. Book this dome for a luxurious escape into nature!

We loved our time at the Little Dipper Dome on Crane Lake and Emily was an amazing host! The dome was easy to find and enter, was clean and well-equipped, and provided for a relaxing getaway for our vacation. Emily was quick to respond to my questions prior to arrival. We interacted with Emily and her husband a couple of times while we were at Crane Lake and they were always kind and helpful. This dome allowed us a quiet retreat on the water and we were able to come and go via our rented boat with a private dock. There was a lot to do on Crane lake including fishing, exploring the Vermillion River and hiking up to the gorge, visiting the Crane Lake Voyageurs National Park Visitor Center, and restaurants to enjoy when we didn't want to cook at the dome. The dome truly provided the upscale clamping experience we were looking for. We would highly recommend you consider this lodging if you are looking to get away to northern Minnesota!
